You will only be able to block minor and major updates for 90 days using MDM. In macOS Big Sur softwareupdate -ignore is deprecated and no longer works.
If your Mac is not Supervised or part of an UAMDM you will not be able to ignore major updates. NOTE: This change is ONLY for UAMDM (User Approved Mobile Device Management) and Supervised Macs.
